Purpose for Watershed Council Coordinator

The ______________________ Watershed Council/Group seeks a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Coordinator. This pivotal position will assist the Council in implementing its mission and goals throughout the Basin. The Coordinator will increase the Council’s capacity for self-sustained funding, improved communications between the Council and the community at large, and the development and implementation of strategic and long range planning.

The _________________ Watershed Council is seeking a full-time coordinator to guide Council activities, spearhead organizational development and promote citizen involvement in local watershed activities and issues. Responsibilities include strategic management planning, budget preparation and tracking, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, training, and involvement, office management; and organizing special events and restoration projects. The successful candidate will convene committees to assist in accomplishing these activities. A minimum of 3 year’s effective experience with non-profit organizations, environmental education or an advocacy group is highly desired. A BA/BS in public administration, community development, urban studies, environmental sciences or a related field is required (desired). Four years of additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a BA/BS degree. Knowledge of land use and watershed concepts and issues is desirable.
