Use Channel Type to Assess Restoration Potential
Broad, generally much wider than channel
Single with occasional multiple channels
Variable, usually medium to large
Variable, often main-stem and lower end of main tributaries
Low Gradient Moderately Confined Channel (LM)
Channel / Riparian Responsiveness:
- The combination of an active floodplain and hill-slope or terrace controls produce channels that can be among the most responsive in the basin.
- Large wood associated with pools. Terraces provide sites for riparian enhancement actions.
